Onshore Delivery Director, National Grid

Dan O’Mahoney is Onshore Delivery Director at National Grid, leading the delivery of major electricity transmission infrastructure projects that are critical to the UK's energy security, economic growth and net zero ambitions. Prior to this, he led Strategic Infrastructure Regulation and Supply Chain, working with Ofgem, Government and industry partners to help enable the delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects. 

Before joining National Grid, Dan was Chief Operating Officer at the Post Office, where he led operational transformation and supported the organisation's response to the Horizon Inquiry and wider programme of change. He also served as Inquiry Director during a period of intense public and political scrutiny, helping to reshape delivery arrangements and support the organisation's long-term recovery. 

Earlier in his career, Dan held a number of senior leadership roles across Government, including leading the UK's operational response to illegal migration in small boats, commanding cross-government operations to protect the UK border, establishing the Joint Maritime Security Centre, and serving in senior roles within the National Crime Agency and Home Office, leading a range of large and complex operational, security and transformation programmes across multiple Government departments and agencies.
